This is the eastern form of the species, which should rightly be considered a discrete subspecies, S. sabaudus fulvulus PALLAS, but it is not accepted at present as a valid ssp.

Depositing eggs into the non-blown inflorescence of Eryngium campestre. Hatched larvae will climb onto the ant host (Messor structor?) visiting the flowers already blooming by that time.
Size is about 5mm.
Eucharis is an odd generic name (given by Latreille in 1804), meaning something like "good news" I wonder wether anybody ever asked ants about that...
(To my knowledge, these are the first captures of a living specimen of this sp.)

Interestingly, the Greek checklist doesn't contain this sp.
This population look much lighter in color than Hungarian specimens. (Species ID is based on collected specimen.)
