Here you can see the cone in the peregrines nostril. Without it, the bird's sinuses would be blown out by high velocity wind in their 200 mile/hr stoops. Jets have similar cones in the front of the plane for the same reasons. Also, you can see the specialized notch on the bill, which is used to sever the spinal cord on prey birds, usually in midair. It has the largest talons, proportionally of any raptor, and I could go on and on. It is natures perfect killing machine.

Sometimes, shooting multiple birds they all get in such a position, where they are all sharp. This was such an occasion, when lady luck smiled upon me. I hate the bg, its rocks and dark sand at the base of the cliffs.

Watching fledges play 'top gun' is pretty entertaining. Learning flight maneuvers during play will serve them well as they hone their hunting skills, if they don't starve to death first.
