Fighting over the most valuable thing to raptors..............food. Spending a lot of time watching birds, it appears they have a lot of similar emotions we have. Here I would say she is feeling surprise and indignation, that the competition would dare try to take her food. Have they not heard that possession is 9/10 of the law.

Northern harriers squabbling over a dead coot. Winter is a tough time for raptors, as food becomes scarce forcing them to migrate in search of food. Southern cal attracts a lot of harriers, red tails and eagles for just that reason. A few locations get thousands of coots and ducks. Coots don't fly that good and are a sizable chunk of meat, plus they are not the smartest of birds. So, when one makes a kill, there are lot of other competitors willing to fight for it, or if you are an eagle, just take it.

Sometimes, shooting multiple birds they all get in such a position, where they are all sharp. This was such an occasion, when lady luck smiled upon me. I hate the bg, its rocks and dark sand at the base of the cliffs.
