Esta maravillosa y emblemática arquitectura, es un acueducto romano que llevaba agua a la ciudad española de Segovia hasta el año 1973....Su construcción data de principios del siglo II d. C., a finales del reinado del emperador Trajano, o principios del de Adriano. La parte más visible, y por lo tanto famosa, es la arquería que cruza la plaza del Azoguejo, en la fotografía.

Photography captured under the Segovia Aqueduct. This wonderful and emblematic architecture is a Roman aqueduct that brought water to the Spanish city of Segovia until 1973... Its construction dates back to the beginning of the 2nd century AD. C., at the end of the reign of Emperor Trajan, or the beginning of Hadrian. The most visible part, and therefore famous, is the archway that crosses the Plaza del Azoguejo, in the photograph.

La Plaza Mayor de Segovia, está en el casco antiguo de la ciudad de Segovia, (Comunidad Autónoma de Castilla y León - España) Este lugar es un espacio urbano que reúne las características de la típica plaza mayor y en el que se encuentran algunos monumentos como el ábside de la catedral (Detrás de mi en el punto de vista que ocupo para la foto) el Teatro Juan Bravo (Al fondo), o la casa consistorial sede del actual ayuntamiento.
Este lugar fue conocido históricamente como plaza de San Miguel, en referencia a la primitiva iglesia de San Miguel que ocupaba originalmente parte del espacio de la actual plaza. Fue en esta plaza de San Miguel donde se celebraba el mercado en la ciudad de Segovia y fue también el lugar en el que Isabel la Católica fue proclamada reina de Castilla el 13 de diciembre de 1474. El templo fue demolido en 1532 y se reconstruyó a unos metros de distancia para permitir el ensanche de la actual Plaza Mayor. A partir de finales del siglo XIX comienza a recibir el nombre de plaza de la Constitución, aunque siempre mantuvo el apelativo de "Plaza Mayor"

The Plaza Mayor of Segovia, is in the old town of Segovia, (Autonomous Community of Castilla y León - Spain) This place is an urban space that brings together the characteristics of the typical main square and in which there are some monuments such as the Apse of the Cathedral (Behind me in the point of view that I occupy for the photo) the Juan Bravo Theater (In the background), or the town hall headquarters of the current town hall.
This place was historically known as Plaza de San Miguel, in reference to the primitive church of San Miguel that originally occupied part of the space of the current square. It was in this square of San Miguel where the market was held in the city of Segovia and it was also the place where Isabel la Católica was proclaimed Queen of Castile on December 13, 1474. The temple was demolished in 1532 and rebuilt after a few meters away to allow the expansion of the current Plaza Mayor. From the end of the 19th century it began to receive the name of Plaza de la Constitución, although it always kept the name "Plaza Mayor".

El tramo central de este acueducto romano, consiste en dos arcadas superpuestas de 44 arcos que alcanza una altura máxima de 28 metros. En su totalidad, esta construcción tiene 167 arcos cuyas luces oscilan alrededor de los 4,90 metros, mientras que las pilas lo hacen alrededor de 1,30 metros.

low angle view under the central arches of the Aqueduct of Segovia. The capture is made after a gray sunset, when the first lights of the city began to come on and with the urban atmosphere of the moment.
The central section of this Roman aqueduct, consists of two superimposed arches of 44 arches that reach a maximum height of 28 meters . In its entirety, this construction has 167 arches whose lights oscillate around 4.90 meters, while the piles do it around 1.30 meters.

En la imagen el ápside de La Santa Iglesia Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción y de San Frutos de Segovia, visto desde la plaza Mayor...Este templo es conocido como la Dama de las Catedrales por sus dimensiones y su elegancia, es una catedral construida entre los siglos XVI y XVIII, de estilo gótico con algunos rasgos renacentistas. La catedral de Segovia es una de las catedrales góticas más tardías de España y de Europa, erigida en pleno siglo XVI (1525-1577), cuando en la mayor parte de Europa se difundía la arquitectura renacentista.

This temple is known as the Lady of the Cathedrals for its size and elegance, it is a Cathedral built between the 16th and 18th centuries, in a Gothic style with some Renaissance features. The Cathedral of Segovia is one of the later Gothic cathedrals in Spain and Europe, erected in the 16th century (1525-1577), when Renaissance architecture was spreading in most of Europe.

Su construcción data de principios del s. II d. C., a finales del reinado del emperador Trajano o principios del de Adriano. La parte más visible, y por lo tanto más famosa, es la arquería que cruza la "Plaza del Azoguejo" en pleno centro urbano de la ciudad.
