New Bedlam Mining Hub arose from humble beginnings as tiny Mining Colony 427, a Tysonite drilling expedition on the edge of a massive asteroid field. However, as Mining Guilds began to acquire control of more and more trade routes, they began to monopolize and consolidate them, and vast amounts of space traffic were herded through the colony's remote home system. Since then the colony has been in a state of constant expansion to facilitate the ever- increasing volume. Christened "New Bedlam" both for the notorious lawlessness that often accompanies such rapid expansion, and for the chaotic appearance of the buildings as they jut out at every angle from the surface of the asteroids it was built upon, it is now one of the largest centers for mining commerce and general trade in the sector.
