The Wreck of the Kaffir, one of the much loved Clyde puffers. The story of her sinking in September 1974 near Ayr Harbour has several variations, but the generally accepted version seems to be that the engineer, under the influence of alcohol, (steamin) thought it might be great fun to take her out into a storm. Moral of the story, never steam if your steamin!
