Bass Rock is a rather small but well-known island in the Firth of Forth, three miles north-east of North Berwick.
It is famed as the home of the world's largest colony of northern gannets, some 150,000 of them.
When seen from a distance, the intense concentration of gannets give the island's surface this white appearance.

I had a request to upload photos of aircraft in BOAC livery, but my photography started in 1974, by which time BOAC and BEA had merged to form British Airways. The best I can offer are some shots in transitional livery, but all are in poor conditions sadly.
