“One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern U.S., Tallulah Gorge (Georgia) is two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks, or they can obtain a permit to hike to the gorge floor (100 per day, not available during water releases). A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, providing spectacular views of the river and waterfalls. Tightrope walkers have twice crossed the gorge, and visitors can still see towers used by Karl Wallenda. A paved path follows an on old railroad bed, perfect for strollers and bicycles, while mountain bikers can test their skills on a challenging 10 mile trail.” Pictured are the beautiful Tallulah Falls in the park.

One of our day trips was to the gorgeous Anna Ruby Falls in northern Georgia. The hike up to view the falls was very steep but definitely worth the climb, even on a hot day!
“Anna Ruby Falls lies in the heart of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest and has become one of North Georgia's premier vacation destinations.”

This beautiful stone bench was a welcome sight on the steep trail up to Anna Ruby Falls in northern Georgia. It looked SO inviting! However, I did not “sit a spell”, fearing that once I did, I might not be able to get back up.

Does anyone else remember this iconic camp song? “Little cottage in the woods, little man by the window stood….” That song popped into my mind when I spotted this rustic cabin during a recent trip. I’d like to be there right now—without my phone and especially without any way to see or listen to the news. Anyone else want to join me?
