Tonight I am giving a little presentation on Birds and Native Plants . For that reason,I thought it might be appropriate to share this image that I took in my yard this week. Here we have a White-throated Sparrow perched in an Eastern Hemlock, a native tree, and the state tree of PA.
This tree is facing a tough challenge from an invasive pest, with many populations being almost wiped out. It is a very important evergreen, however, providing winter cover for birds and wildlife as well as providing nesting habitats to many of our breeding species
I also just thing the peek-a-boo look is adorable.
