Athabasca Falls are located in Jasper National Park approximately 30 kilometers south of Jasper, Alberta.
The headwater comes from the Columbia Glacier about 70 kilometers south. The 23-metre Athabasca Falls is not very high by Canadian Rockies standards, but the size of the river makes it one of the most powerful falls to be found in the mountain national parks.

Johnston Canyon is located off the Trans Canada Highway about 17.5 km (11 mi) from Banff, Alberta heading toward Jasper. I can't say enough about this absolutely stunning trail in Banff National Park.
"The trail to the waterfalls of Johnston Canyon has to be the busiest in the Canadian Rockies. Nearly every day throughout the summer, hundreds of hikers follow its canyon-clinging catwalks and cliff-mounting staircases to the gorge’s Lower and Upper Falls."

Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada. This was taken from the Banff Gondola that goes up to Sulpher Mountain. Did I ever mention that I hate heights!! They actually have little windows in the gondola for a clear view!
The Fairmont Banff Springs or simply the Banff Springs Hotel is a former railway hotel constructed in Scottish Baronial style, located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. The hotel was built between spring of 1887 and 1888 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. The hotel was publicly opened on June 1, 1888 and rebuilt in the 1920s after a fire. After the fire they found a secret room with no windows or doors, which they believed was a ghost's home that haunts the hotel.
Under the stewardship of its current owner, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, the hotel has recently had an extensive renovation which has not changed its original grandeur. An original construction flaw, the siting of the entrance and lobby on the river side, has also been corrected in this renovation. (The architect is said to have declared "you built my hotel backwards!"
The hotel is within a spectacular setting in the Rocky Mountains, just above the Bow Falls, close to thermal springs. It is within walking distance of the resort community of Banff. The main view from the hotel is across the valley and towards Mount Rundle, frequently cited in geology books for its exposed and tilted ancient seabeds.
The original wooden hotel burnt down in 1926, and was rebuilt larger and in its current form in 1928. In 1968, the hotel was winterised and has been open year-round since.
The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is one of the premier resort hotels of the world. Anyone can see this photo (edit)

This was taken along the Trans Canada Highway travelling from Jasper to Banff, Alberta. This was taken on May 12, 2010...and the moutains were still snow covered and some of the lakes still frozen over. It was 20 C (around 70 F) in Jasper that day! This Highway is listed as one of the most beautiful drives...and I can attest to that!!
I am not sure of the names of all the mountains in my various images or if I was in Jasper or Banff National Park at this point along the Highway. I welcome any feedback regarding names from any of my flickr contacts. Thank you.
According to www.flickr.com/photos/dngallphoto/ this may be Mount Patterson from one of the Waterfowl Lakes in Banff. Thank you again for the information.
This is a three exposure HDR image (+/-1).
