I just returned a couple of weeks ago from a two week vacation in Hawaii where I spent a week in Kuaui and a week in Maui. This image was taken along the road to Hana in Maui. What spectacular sights! Volcanic rocks are seen along this coast and this images of this tourist with his point and shoot camera was taken in a similar spot to the prior image in my stream! So what happened...well, he got out just in time! I was actually waiting just to see what would happen as his wife was yelling at him nearby...lol.

Waimea Canyon, Kauai. It was so amazing to travel to the leeward (western) side of the island of Kauai to travel along Waimea Canyon which is also referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

Kauai os the oldest of the Hawaiian islands. This island was the location of many films including Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc.

This is about as close as I could get to photographing this beautiful falls in Kauai. I am amazed at the stabilization of my new mirrorless Olympus camera. I took this at a shutter speed of 1/10 handheld. It is obviously a smaller camera system to manage but I am still impressed with some of the features and capabilities of this additional system I purchased specifically for these type of travel trips!

For those that are a bit older (like me), these falls were featured in the opening scene of Fantasy Island and for those a bit youger was also used in the film Raiders of the Lost Ark and other films as well. Kauai is a stunning island!
