The Hopewell Rocks, also called the Flowerpot Rocks or simply The Rocks, are rock formations caused by tidal erosion in The Hopewell Rocks Ocean Tidal Exploration Site in New Brunswick.
They are located on the shores of the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy at Hopewell Cape near Moncton, New Brunswick. Due to the extreme tidal range of the Bay of Fundy, the base of the formations are covered in water twice a day. However, it is possible to view the formations from ground level at low tide.
It was a great day...walking around down there at low tide. You cannot get too close to the water as the foundation is all mud. There are so many formations and caves...truly a wonder to see! The caves are closed due to safety issues and falling rocks. We spent several hours there walking the coast and enjoying the splendor of low tide! These rocks take on a life of their own...and look like different shapes/ people, etc. The staff at the Provincial park have named these rocks...what do they look like to you?
I just returned from a 16 day road trip with my girlfriend to east coast Canada. We travelled there through Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec...arriving in New Brunswick and heading to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. On our return we travelled by way of USA through Maine, New Hampshire...staying a few days in Vermont and back to Ontario through New York. It was an amazing 16 days with many photos to come!
I know I have not commented on photos lately...I apologize for that! I hope to find the time over the next while to catch up and take time to enjoy the inspiring photography of my fellow contacts and friends.

Prince Edward Island is sectioned into four parts....the Northcentral coast, the Red Sands (the southern coast), the West coast and Eastern Coast. Prince Edward Island is called the "peaceful island"...and it is truly one of my new favourite places. It is famous for it's lush landscapes, it's red sands, gorgeous dunes, historic sites and lighthouses, Anne of Green Gables and simply the simplicity and beauty of this province! There is so much I love about this island....

this image was taken in one of the Country stores in Vermont...Taftsville Country Store in Tafstville, Vermont. This image depicts what I love about Vermont Country stores...first - there is always a 'dog'...or two and usually a golden retriever! This one has received a summer shave according to the store owner! After carefully stepping over the store 'dog'...you will find everything from vintage wines, to designer socks...to homemade wares, a deli, bakery, etc. They are a potpourri of many really great and unique wares! I LOVE Vermont!! Oh, and if you look on the map, it sits right on the corner of Happy Valley Road...lol!

This image was taken along the road heading east somewhere past St. Peter's Bay and toward Eastpoint Lighthouse, PEI. There are so, so many small little havens, and places along the road like this...I could spend a week there just shooting these type of images. This is a 3 image HDR (+/-1), tonemapped with some post processing.

This image was taken in North Rustico, PEI. There are so, so many small little havens, and places along the road like this...I could spend a week there just shooting these type of images. Yet, there is a natural beauty about them as they sit in a harbour (like this one) or in a field of wildflowers. This on really struck me...a door leading where?...lol. I wasn't actually sure if this one was being used still...
