I had a wonderful week away with five other Flickr friends in the most awe inspiring places. This is Wedge Pond in Kananaskis Country, Alberta.

When I got home, I had another Flickr friend from England I had never met in person come to Vancouver and I had two fantastic days with her and her husband.

Now I think I'm back :) I will do my best to catch up with your recent images in the next few days. I've missed you!

I know it's a prairie dog and not a meerkat, but I couldn't help but think of the funny meerkat video (some of you will know which one I mean and understand the title).

Last week on our Flickrcation, we saw many wild animals, including bears, moose and deer, but, for the animal theme, I chose to post this cute little prairie dog who entertained us as we stopped somewhere along the way for an outdoor lunch break.

In a large field of wildflowers in Waterton Park, the tiny Mariposa lilies were so tiny, you would miss them if you just walked by. They were mostly hidden by the tall and more colourful flowers. But when I got right down on the ground, there they were in all their diminutive beauty.

We were driving around southern Alberta looking for the next photo opportunity, and saw hundreds of rare blue camas flowers in a ditch, so that's where we ended up. The cows in the background noticed us but soon got bored.
