I've seen photographers using this technique for a few months now. The one I found online who really inspired me to try this was Robert Peek - his images are astounding. www.robertpeekfotografie.nl/flowers

Anyway, usually a fish tank is required for the amount of water needed. I didn't have one but wanted to practice anyway, so I used a square vase and very small flowers. The flowers have to be submerged in the water, and held down somehow - that was the difficult part, especially in such a small amount of water. The tripod had to be set up with a remote shutter, and I put my camera on burst mode. I made sure the flowers were in focus, and the process started. Often paint is used, but here, I used cream....it's much easier to clean and works great. I very slowly poured cream into the water and kept shooting. The cream curls over the flowers and creates this lovely texture, almost like smoke sometimes.

So this is my first attempt. I'm hoping to find a free, small fish tank somewhere…

I haven't been on Flickr for a couple weeks because I'm unwell. I hope to come back sooner rather than later, but need to get the energy to sit at my computer for longer than a few minutes. Thanks to those of you who checked up on me - I appreciate it :)
See you when I return.

(This is another in my submerged flowers series)
