Taken at Big Bend, Texas last March, I saw several, and this was the closest 'in the sunlight'. I saw several Roadrunners that were in the shade and were hard to shoot. This was from a mated pair actually, I also saw the female with a lizard in her mouth taking it to her chicks.

These dunes are in Monahans, West Texas in-between Odessa and Pecos. Personally, I was impressed that Texas had dunes, I had no idea. :)

Big Bend Roadrunner that was peeking around a tree... This was a female, I think, she was looking for some vittles for her babies that were around 8' in a tree. She found a lizard and went up and fed them later. I saw quite a few while I was on this trip actually.
This was in Rio Grande Village close to the actual river.
