A monk spins a prayer wheel at a dzong in Bnutan. These large prayer wheels are often located at the entrance to a dzong and are spun by the faithful in a clockwise direction as they enter the inner courtyard of the monastery. Prayers wheels are a sacred symbol of devotion in Tibetan Buddhism (the type practiced in Bhutan), and worshippers turn prayer wheels to accumulate merit.
