When you get to the top of Scafell Pike, try the descent via Lingmell. It gives a beautiful turfy walk down to Wastwater and avoids the path down Brown Tongue. It also opens up beautiful views into Mosedale over Wasdale Head, with Pillar dominating the skyline. The Mosedale horseshoe is a great walk for another day.
