The next installment of my desert explorer series. I built this for Brickworld 2024, while it didn't really make a splash there, I consider it one of my favorite builds recently that encapsulates my love for this little series I've made.

I also made a video on how I edit my mocs using this build as the example! Check that out here: youtu.be/raUWgYDqHCs/

This is my first build for RebelLUG’s Vignweek contest! The prompt was “Olympic” so we had to build something related to that. I wanted to build something with a bit of height so decided against building one of the modern sports.

“All my pretty ones?
Did you say all? O hell-kite! All?
What, all my pretty chickens and their dam
At one fell swoop?”
-Shakespeare, MacBeth

A vibrantly colored great horned owl flies out of the canvas underneath the full moon. The creation was photographed against a pink background and edited with a border of dark blue to match the color scheme of the build. The curved wings and the slanted canvas add to the dynamic presentation but also ensures the creation fits within the required dimensions for the Lego Ideas Flora and Fauna challenge. The final footprint measures 64x31 studs and is 60 bricks high.

This build is a collaborative project between three builders: my friends Eli Willsea, Grant Davis and myself. We started the project over a year ago when Grant and Eli visited my house for a week, and then the build mostly just sat in my room for a year until Eli and I decided to finish it off for Brick World Chicago last month. Then since Brick World I've just been tweaking and refining details of the build until now. And tomorrow I will be packing it up to bring to BFVA!

The inspiration for the concept and layout behind this build came from artist cornacchia-art

It feels really good to finally have this one done and share it with y'all. I have a few close up shots in my stream as well. Hope you enjoy!
Glory to Jesus Christ!
