Mr. Thomas James Williams was born at Tottenham, England, on May 22, 1821, and arrived in South Australia in the ship Augustus, Captain Hart, on October 16, 1845.
Mr. Williams built the Old Spot Hotel, Little Para, near Salisbury, in 1849, and resided there until a few weeks before his death in 1899.
The Old Spot is a well known hostelry, and is regarded as a halfway house between Adelaide and Gawler.
