There is an entire flock of Ring-Billed Gulls wintering in our cove on the lake this winter. It is very entertaining to watch them catching small fish. This was a missed dive for the gull and the gull has water droplets spewing from his bill. These gulls are likely summer residents of our northern neighbors. Gull usually leave us during the March or early April time frame. We also get them in the summer when there are hurricanes on the coast but they don't stay long.
