This Azure-winged Magpie/Iberian Magpie** was sat at the top of a tall fir tree, so not the best angle to photograph it. These magpies are smaller than our familiar magpie.
**Apparently they are now called Iberian Magpies (Cyanopica cooki)

I was in the garden with my macro lens looking for insects when this Magpie came down for the mealworms that I had put out for the smaller birds. I had to hide behind a bush and make do with the macro lens to get some quick shots because they are normally very flighty birds. It must be feeding young as it flew off with this mouthful of mealworms.

The Azure-winged Magpie/Iberian Magpie** is a bird in the crow family. It is smaller than our familiar magpie. It commonly inhabits pine or broadleaf forests. It breeds in Southern Spain and Portugal. They are also found in Eastern Asia. I found this one in Southern Spain.
