Weymann bodied AEC Reliance AFE 719A began life in 1962 as 325 NKT in the Maidstone & District fleet as a conventional single decker.
It was converted to almost full open top in 1974 for use in the Hastings area on sea front services supplementing and replacing the earlier converted AEC Regal IIIs. Needless to say, in the British climate, a fully open top single decker is of limited use as there is no lower saloon in which passengers can take refuge in the event of a downpour. Post withdrawal it led a very nomadic life as each and every owner reached the same conclusion.
It seemed that its last days had come fairly recently when its interior was gutted and it was used by a protest group as a mobile platform, in that attracting the violent attentions of both those of a different viewpoint and also riot police. The somewhat diminished remains were bought by Steve Morris at Quantock Heritage (he'd also owned it in a past life) as a source of spare parts for an identical ex PMT Reliance. However, for one reason and another it dodged death again and was fixed up once more enabling it to take part in last Sunday's Taunto Bus Running Day event where its seen here.

Newly acquired by Eastbourne Coaches (Direct Travel Journeys Ltd) is YK06 DRX. This BMC Condor 220 was new to CT Plus Wakefield in June 2006 as BC010. Like almost all UK registered Condor's, it was part of the West Yorkshire Metro MyBus school fleet, but most recently saw service with Archway Travel of Fleetwood. It was seen in Battle High Street having just finished working Claverham College Service CC05.
