Chapman’s Pool is a beautifully tucked away cove in Dorset, west of Worth Matravers on the Isle of Pubeck. It is a magnificent cove with very little visitors, partly because very few know about it and even less actually want to make the descend to get to it. This makes it a tranquil location for nature lovers who seek a soothing destination with very few other visitors around and enjoy hill walks and unaltered rocky coastlines. And of course you are likely to come across fossils such as ammonites and bivalves which are flattened against rocks but still very exciting.

Hello my friends!
Took this shot early in the morning :-)
There was a steady mist over the water (& shoreline) from the time I arrived, 03:10, until I left at 05:30.
The sun continually battled the clouds and began to reflect upon the water just about the time I visited one of my favorite piers... so I came away with this, which I'm happy to share with you guys today

Another photo taken during the cold month of last March.
I've showed this photo to people who thought the reflection resembled a monster mouth about to eat the sun! 🐊
Others thought it looked like a camel (minus reflection) salivating :-) 🐪
I myself even see a dinosaur, with the treeline creating a spiky back on the creature!
(update!) Many friends in the Comments have mentioned "Loch Ness Monster"! So I gotta add that Tag as well :-) 🐍
Dear friends, you don't have to read on... the following is just some info on how difficult this one was to capture!
As you can see, there was still ice upon the water (as well as icicles hanging from the extended log)... and I had to walk out on top of crushed ice chunks to get this shot.
Problem was, I couldn't place my camera lens any lower to line-up the shot correctly.
My Sony camera was literally touching the water (battery compartment on the bottom)... and my camera isn't weather proof.
Another problem was that each time my camera touched the water, it created ripples which destroyed the reflection I had in mind.
I never managed to get a mirror-perfect reflection, as my body weight and subtle movements (shifting & breathing) continuously caused some waves upon the water (and I had to be on the ice plates to get this specific angle).
So I hunkered down upon the crushed ice plate... steadied myself carefully, pressed my camera down against the water, waited til the ripples disappeared, pressed the shutter button, quickly raised the camera from the water and wiped it dry... and then repeated again & again until I got the shot I wanted ;-)
These are the moments in photography you never forget !
I enjoyed the adventure even more than the photograph, but I do like it as well :-)
Brings a smile to my face each time I see it : )
