As is well known, Icelandic sheep roam free in the summer but in autumn farmers and helpers go and drive them towards this construction. They're herded into the middle and then are sorted into these stalls according to who owns them. It can be quite the event but there are not many sheep left in my area any more since sheep farming is a struggling field of work.

I don't really know how to translate this word. It refers to the construction but also the event and also exists as a verb meaning to put the sheep into the construction where they are sorted by the farms. Here you see the train of cars carrying all the people who had been driving the sheep down from the mountains as well as spectators to turn up for fun (like me).
