Fluidr / Calopteryx xanthostoma (Charpentier, 1825) by Pipa Terrer

En un tramo del río Cabriel a su paso por Pajaroncillo encontramos una gran densidad de machos de Calopteryx xanthostoma, varios compartiendo la misma percha y con algún Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis entre ellos. Al parecer esperaban a que apareciese alguna hembra por ese tramo del río para ser el elegido, formar el tándem y poder copular, esto pudimos verlo en varias ocasiones llegando a contar hasta 15 cópulas en el tiempo que estuvimos allí. Una buena tarde en la escapada que hicimos a tierras conquenses, en una inmejorable compañía.

Quiero dedicar esta foto a mi amigo Ricardo Menor, se que disfruta mucho con los Calopteryx, los xanthosotoma y las cópulas de este género.
