The moon is a fascinating subject that I have photographed so many times over the years, this wonderous, white, pearly object we admire in the night sky impacts our world in more ways than one. The moon affects the ocean tides through gravity as well as the people and animals that exist on earth in ways we still don't fully understand.
What do I do with my collection of moons?
Well, I decided to create a Flower Moon with some of them. The big central moon was photographed on the 19/11/2021, the 5 left petals belong to some stages of the 26/05/2021 lunar eclipse. The 5 right petals and the 3 leaves belong to random moon stages that I photographed during year 2022.

Lake Matheson is nestled in ancient forest and is famous for mirror views of Aoraki/Mount Cook and Mount Tasman. Its excellent reflecting properties are due to the dark brown colour of the water – the result of organic matter leached from the humus of the forest floor. Dawn and dusk are the best times to enjoy the reflections in the lake.
