An occasional visitor to my garden, this guy caught two House Sparrows in the space of about 15 minutes last night just as the light was fading fast. I managed to grab my camera and rattle off a couple of shots before he went on his way again.

This Osprey was on the look out for a snack just before sunset on a beach near Fort Myers, Florida.

It perched on some driftwood quite some distance away so this is a bit of heavy crop.

Barred Owl

The Barred Owl gets its name from the distinct bars of white and brown on its body. Their diet consists mainly of rodents such as cotton rats and deer mice but they will also feed on frogs, lizards, snakes and small birds, including the smaller Screech Owl. Occasionally, they will also take fish and crayfish. They may fall prey to the larger and more powerful Great Horned Owl.
