As some of you know, for what its worth, I have spent my life studying the Giant Gippsland Earthworm, one of the largest Earthworms in the World. It is a threatened species and only known from a small area of South Gippsland, Victoria. It is an extremely difficult animal to study as it lives it's entire life underground. It never comes to the surface. One of the cool things about these giants (they can grow well over one metre in length and weigh up to 400 g) is that you can often hear them moving in their wet burrows. It is not always an easy sound to capture but I managed to record this when I was in the field on Tuesday. I thought I'd share it with you for something different!
