Dragon head Rock, Rye.

While the tendency is to go for a long exposure, in this image I wanted to show the power of the incoming waves you can see in the background.

This is a notoriously dangerous place. It doesn't look it when the water is smoothed out with a long exposure. However, this dragon head sits quite a distance from the shore on a rocky reef. It can only be accessed at low tide. Once the tide starts coming in, it intrudes with these sporadic, huge waves that quickly cover the rocky ledge and fill the pool of water.

With that last sunset image, we were all pushing it to stay out there because, as luck would have it, the tide rushes in before the sun has set at this time of the year.

My camera club is heading there this weekend (which I stupidly didn't realise when I visited there last week). Still, different conditions might make for different images!
