My second morning camping at Lake Winton contrasted markedly with the previous one when the sky was all kinds of reds and pinks and everything in between.

This morning, I was just glad I survived the night after three storm fronts moved through with thunder and lightening that was so outrageous, it woke me up and left me shaking and wondering why I didn't listen more closely when I was a girl guide and remember what to do. I did count between the thunder and lightening to work out whether it was moving away from me, so I give myself credit for that!

I was secretly relieved when I looked out the tent and saw there was no sunrise to speak of and went back to sleep so this image is alittle later in the morning.

Though the cloud was heavy, it parted enough to let some light rays through and the fog rolling over the hills gave it a beauty all of it's own.

"In the early mornin' rain
With a dollar in my hand
With an aching in my heart
And my pockets full of sand
I'm a long ways from home
And I missed my loved one so
In the early mornin' rain
With no place to go"
Classic Gorden Lightfoot. Released in 1966.

I am sorry I haven't commented as much as I'd like. I'm still struggling with the "lurgy' and its coming up three weeks. Feel like I've broken some ribs with all the coughing!

That is what my Sunset App said about the night I captured this last week (Overcast-Forget it giving it a score of 1).

The evening sky produced these golden yellows and that changed over a half hour or so.

I feel so at peace at this place. Of course I have written about the approaching development that will soon swallow this up. I am standing on a dirt road here, just outside the fence of the property but behind me are cyclone fences and half built houses.

I don't know how long I have to enjoy this landscape, maybe a few years. I can't bring myself to look at the future plans.
Still, I'll keep popping out, regardless of what my Sunset App says just in case something special happens-like I felt it did on this night.

This looks really over saturated on my phone but not at all on my computer. Hope it doesn’t translate like that to others 😀 I don’t have good calibration with any of my screens.
