I think everyone's heart is broken after the news of the tragedy in Tasmania yesterday.

Some days there are just no words.

4:30 am and I am awoken by a tap on my bedroom door. Sunrise beckons. Or does it?
Well I guess it does since the sun must rise everyday but will it be worthy of an early start at a god-forsaken hour of the morning. (I know, some like my beloved, that get up at that time every morning, are hardened to early starts). Not me.

It was grey and drab with heavy cloud but we wandered down to the beach to see what we could see.

The sun refused to perform, but for a minute or so, when it peeked through a gap in the clouds, it cast a beautiful glow and reflected in the pool below.

It ended up being such a lovely time on the beach, regardless of the lack of colour. By the time breakfast came around, we had been up for hours and photographed lots of birds and the day had only just woken.

I know it looks like I have really emphasised the bright mirror around the two salt people but I went back and checked my original. It must have been a bright spot in the clouds that reflected in just the right place to highlight these two and the still water surrounding them.

Sunrise, when the pinks were really pink and the clouds tattooed the salt lake _____Lake Tyrrell.

Hope you aren't bored with these images. I still have more and if I don't post them now, they will end up not seeing the light of day!

Better late than never :)

This year the FFF+ have created a group challenge called "Five On The Fifth" (FOTF) . . . five images in the form of a collage must be uploaded on the 5th of each month, with there being a different theme, set by a member of the group each month.


The photos can be five different images or five images of the one subject/object shot in different ways, as long as they are presented in the form of a collage.


This months theme of “Structure” was chosen by Laszlo.

I wanted to do cloud structure for this challenge but when it came to putting it together, I couldn't quite achieve what I wanted and as using photoshop was making my RSI pain worse, I gave up. My fellow FFF friend Andrew helped me put this together-drove the machine and I bossed him around and told him what I wanted. Thanks.

Mr Mojo Rising is apparently an anagram for Jim Morrison.
Not that I am referring to my Mojo rising as it waxes and wanes every day of the week! The thought just came to me with the rising of the sun.
