A family of New Holland Honeyeaters (you may recall Neville and Nigella from last year) are constant visitors to my yard. They are a family of 5 with three cheeky siblings, one of which is pictured here. The there are always dashing about together, tumbling over each other and either bickering or cuddling.
The perfect family.

"My" Eastern Spinebill dances outside my study window, the incredibly fast beating of those wings allow it to hover, similar to a hummingbird. I was suprised by the fact that you can hear them fluttering quite loudly.

I can't send flowers from my garden across the seas (nor can I paint like you) so I picked some of my favourite Aussie flowers and photographed them for you both.
These are all Australian native flowers
-Yellow Wattle -our National Emblem
-Red Wattle-an usual and fairly new variety
-Silver Princess (Eucalyptus with big red flowers) which all the birds love
Happy Wanderer-A climber draped in pretty white flowers
The flowers are set against the Wattle trees just coming into bloom.

I last saw this beautiful visitor to my garden about two weeks ago. Its visits have been less over the past month or two as the Salvias finished their flowering. I have one beautiful pink one in the last throws of flowers, picked over relentlessly by the family of New Holland Honeyeaters.
I may not see the Eastern Spinebill again this year but I am hopeful that it will return next year when the Salvia's renew and bloom once again.
