"They say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
They say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
But you wouldn't know it by me
Every day's been darkness since you been gone"
Bob Dylan (Blood on the Tracks 1975)

One of the motley crew photographing the fog filled valley. This image shows how thick the fog was. This is a deeply incised valley, known as "The Valley of 1000 hills"

The fog had filled the valley floor and was continuous rolling over the tops of the rounded peaks, occasionally revealing trees and other structures before just as quickly rolling over and engulfing them again.
It started off around 2 C.

Alarm rings.
5:15 am
Already?
Cup of coffee waiting in kitchen
Andrew arrives
We pick up Paul
Off we go on our early morning adventure to Strath Creek.
I promised everyone fog in the valley and a sunrise.
There was no problem with fog - so much so that our planned location was a white wash that the sunrays couldn't even penetrate.

We altered our plans and went to another location down the track. We were greeted with some jaw dropping scenery. It wasn't easy photography conditions though but I kept thinking -wow, only 45 minutes from home.

I am posting this one first as I complained to Andrew that he is quicker than me at posting and always posts his shots first. Always the gentleman he said I could post this one first :)

No horror movie here-although it could be considered banjo country way out in them there hills so you never know!

As mentioned previously, there was no fog in the hills from the Murchison Gap lookout (Previous 2 posts) but as we descended down towards Yea, there some dancing around the gorgeous gums.

The lookout over Strath Creek provides amazing views if you are brave enough to bare the early morning winter cold. You may be greeted with an outrageous fog, that licks and curls its way around the valley crevices. The red-roofed homestead, teasing with its open fire, sits nestled in the valley below.
