A break from birds to show one of my favourite street shots from Singapore. As I mentioned previously, conditions were challenging and I have a disappointing number of images that are not sharp.
Anyway, this turned out to be a favourite from China town. I just love the expression on the faces or the men. Relaxed in each others company.

These Malayan Water Monitors can grow up to 3 m long. Fairly intimidation to come across them but this one was very happy to go about his business, searching for food in the pond at the gardens in Singapore.
These lizards, along with snakes use their tongues to smell and apparently a forked tongue helps them smell better.

I am finally getting around to doing my photobook for my trip to Singapore. Almost a year ago. I realise there were quite a few images I never got around to posting so may offer some up over the next few days.
It also made me remember how much I loved that trip. I went with my best friend of 50 years who is also a nature and bird lover and she just let me have the whole time dedicated to photography.
A rare, somewhat selfish but amazing experience.

Little Saigon is a Vietnamese Restaurant & Bar on Clarke Quay in Singapore. Just like fairy lights, I get excited when I see Lanterns so I had to make this image.
It was a lot of fun setting up the tripod and watching people go by, often too polite to walk in front of the camera even though that is exactly what I wanted! Perhaps it would have been better to have this man to the right, instead of walking out of the picture but of all the images I took, this is what I ended up liking.
After using their beautiful restaurant as a model for this image, we thought it best to contribute to their evening intake, so we sat in the outdoor section by the river, full of gorgeous silk lanterns imported from Vietnam and drank mocktails and ate one of the best Creme Brulee's I have ever had.

Looking down on Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay from the 57th Floor of the Lavo Restaurant, Singapore.
Gardens by the Bay is a nature park spanning 101 hectares of reclaimed land in the Central Region of Singapore. I loved it for birding but during the night it comes alive with the lighting of these massive vertical gardens. They measure between 25 and 50 metres tall.
I am such a sucker for fairy lights that I was in heaven. It felt like I was walking through a giant storybook.
If I could, I would go over-the
top and have fairy lights everywhere. Thank goodness Christmas is on its way and I have an excuse.
