This is the Nullawil Silo, north-east of Birchip. The Silo Art trails have done alot for reviving tiny rural towns, bringing visitors from all over Victoria, following the Silo Art trail which stretches across the Wimmera and Mallee.

Artist Sam Bates completed the work.

Bates, also known as Smug or Smug One, is an Australian contemporary street artist, known for his photo realism graffiti work. He flew in from Scotland to complete this work.

I couldn't believe my luck when we pulled over to find a young man with his Kelpie, an identical match with the Kelpie in the art work!
Bobby was a well trained dog but try as we might, it was so hard to get him to sit still while we took photos without him trying to come toward the photographer.
The name of the dog in the artwork is Jimmy.

Another mood at Lake Tyrell just as sunset approached and just after the storm.

I have just started to feel a tiny bit better after the latest setback. I think that is going to be my default health position for awhile. Good weeks and bad weeks. We were meant to be in New Zealand now but we had to cancel for the second time due to COVID (welcome to the club you say!). I am glad now as I would not have been able to enjoy it and hiking is a must in NZ.

Instead we booked a few days at Phillip Island so I head off tomorrow. I am hoping not to spend it on the couch and at least be able to take in the healing properties of that salty sea air.

To my friends who are unwell and in pain, I hope that you are having a good day today and that you are not overwhelmed. xx

This is probably my favourite Silo Art and is one of the highlights of the tiny town of Sea Lake.

The GrainCorp Silos at Sea Lake were painted by Joel Fergie, aka The Zookeeper and Travis Vinson, aka Drapl in October 2019.
Below is the link describing the inspiration for this artwork.
www.australiansiloarttrail.com/sea-lake

"For millennia this lake has existed, unchanged and untouched. It is a place of wonder and story. In this ever increasing busy day and age, people universally long for space and solitude."

On this particular evening, I decided against going out to photograph sunset. Instead, I sat outside in the lovely shared common area of our accommodation to read my book.

Bloody Murphy's Law kicked in and of course it was the only real sunset colour of the entire trip. I looked up from my book when I noticed the orange reflection on a window. I ran out to peer down the road land saw the Silo Art glowing with colour. I grabbed the camera, put on those stinky thongs and drove down to the art work. Took a wrong turn in my haste and ended up driving onto the adjacent paddock to get to the site ;-). Just making it to catch the artwork set beautifully against the backdrop of the glowing sky.
