I have to post more than my usual one post per day to catch up with some of the lovely birds I have photographed over the past few weeks!

The Variegated fairywren was another first for me, one at Lake Tyrrell in Northen Victoria and the this one from the Sunshine Coast. None are particularly brilliant as it was dark, drab grey and rainy but they are such pretty birds.

This is another instance where I got attacked by mosquitoes. I counted about 50 bites on one arm alone!
Jan and I had to give up and leave in the end.

I spent a wonderful weekend with my Flickr Friend Jan www.flickr.com/photos/boffins/ at the Sunshine Coast. Unfortunately it was not sunny at all-torrential rains for alot of the weekend! However, we managed some birding and she introduced me to several beauties including this little stunner-the male Red-backed fairywren.
