I was lucky enough to get away for a few days up to Lake Tyrrell with the fabulous FFM (Famous Flickr Melbournians). Some- one else took this image of all of us together at sunrise and I really like it.
This is what I miss most about photography.
I mean shadowy friends in the most complimentary way-they were always in the shadows looking out for me, making sure I was Ok. Despite my tears and frustration, they remind me of how far I have come, that I could not have done this a few months ago. Darkness is not my friend; neither is tiredness or stress so sunset and sunrise are difficult. All my stability and balance now come through my eyes and when that is disturbed, darkness or bright light, I don’t function well. But I did it and enjoyed every second of it.
I think what I enjoyed as much was the leisurely breakfasts and afternoon teas at our accommodation where our topics of conversations went anywhere and everywhere.
So thanks my shadowy friends for doing what you did for me this weekend.

"My patron saint is a-fighting with a ghost
He's always off somewhere when I need him most
The Spanish moon is rising on the hill
But my heart is a-tellin' me I love you still" Abandoned Love by Bob Dylan
So there is no hill and I am not in Spain. But these words came drifting into my head as we watched the most beautiful blood moon rise over Lake Tyrrell at sunset.
I worry I may never love photography again but I felt a spark here. How could I not?
One of my aims was to get to know my Nikon Z6ii better in preparation for my trip to Paris. I did have to do some googling on the fly! This is a bracketed exposure and I took a zoomed in image of the moon and merged it with this image.
I don't have too many images worthy of sharing but this moment was magical.
