When exploring the Soho area of London, we came upon the location where Oasis shot their most famous cover for the album “(What’s the story) morning glory? on London's Berwick Street. I was compelled to do what a million others have done before me and try to replicate the shot with my phone.
We had the eye-roller with us who was mortified as of course we had to stand in the middle of the road to do this which inevitably draws attention. I got the Sherpa, who surprising co-operated, to walk one way and then the other and then merged the images in photoshop.
The album cover is in the shop window in the comments.
This band and album has a lot of sentimental value to me. It's one of those ones where every song is a hit. My son played it over and over again when he was doing his VCE (final year of secondary school). When he turned 21, my nephew's band played in our backyard and my son got up and sang one of their songs (Wonder wall) and we all sang along and danced. It was just one of those really special moments that hang about in your memories.
I think the image was worth the momentary embarrassment of being a dumb tourist.
