Two ex-Ann Arbor Railroad workhorses still ply the same rails they were purchased to operate over sixty years ago for their present owner. A group of ten EMD GP35's were built between March and June 1964 to replace the railroad's first generation Alco FA cab units. The locomotives are seen leading train OSTN south of Byron, Michigan with interchange cars for CSX at Howell, Michigan and the current Ann Arbor Railroad at Osmer Siding. The engineer has notched out the throttle to climb out of a sag approaching Beard Road crossing.
