Train 661, the local from Medina has arrived in Spencer, Ohio and is seen taking the connection to the Hartland Subdivision. The crew will drop and tie down their cars in the siding west of town.

One of the biggest operational obstacles on the Hartland Subdivision for an eastbound train out of Bellevue, Ohio is the run up Hartland Hill. A Toledo to Brewster, Ohio manifest (224) is seen passing under the US Route 20 overpass just east of Norwalk, Ohio. The engineer has both locomotives notched out and the sanders on as the train fights up the grade.

Two sure signs of Spring, an Eastern Redbud tree blooms with it's vibrant lavender pink flowers and the return of stone trains to the Wheeling for the road construction season. Train 772 led by a pair of SD40-2 locomotives comes around a curve in Norwalk, Ohio. The train was loaded at the quarry in Parkerstown, Ohio and is heading east for Hartland Yard. Just ahead lies Hartland Hill a six mile long challenge for the crew and their locomotives.
