Five ALCO Century locomotives pass Bridge 60 Tower as they perform some switching moves in Scranton Yard. After switching some freight cars, the crew will put together the motive power consists for the days road trains.

The sun has burned through the early morning fog shrouding downtown Scranton and eastbound train PO-74 for Portland, Pennsylvania is seen climbing the grade out of town along the University of Scranton campus toward Nay Aug Tunnel. At Nay Aug the crew will pick up additional loaded grain cars for Pocono Summit. With a large train the four six-axle locomotives will use all their tractive effort against the Pocono Mountain grade.

After pushing a grain train they brought over from Norfolk Southern’s Taylor Yard up to the siding at Nay Aug the crew drifts back downgrade past the Steamtown Mall with a few cars in tow.
