This lens (by itself or on a speedbooster as it was here) has 'busy' bokeh in the transition zone with line doublings and such. I'd always wondered if one could make something pleasant out of that. This is one such attempt with wavelets and color manipulation using curves in Lab space.

I ended up adding grain to this. It's low contrast ceiling detail from an old water distribution tank/building that's now an art gallery. Couldn't hand-hold it lower than 1/10s for some reason (= coffee) so this underexposure led to horrible noise in post given what I had to do to pull the structure&tonality out.
