On an ice-cold December morning, I was able to photograph this halo above the church of St. Coloman near Schwangau in the Ostallgäu. The fog was just dissolving as the sun rose over the mountain peaks and for a short time the 22° ring with horizontal circle and sundogs appeared. A very faint 46° ring was also visible. I used the church tower to cover the very bright sun, which also created an exciting shadow effect.
