We had a 5 day break away in Newcastle at Easter! It was fantastic. We always love Newcastle and it certainly didn't disappoint!

Saturday night I went to meet a couple of old friends from university and we went to The Stand for standup comedy.

Bless her, Gemma had paid for a ticket too but was so overcome by hay fever she couldn't even get out of the hotel room so she had to miss it.

The acts were great too - and nice to see a bill with a mostly female cast. 3 female and one male comedian. Sammy Dobson, Kathleen Hughes, Marise Gaughan, and Raymond Mearns. A cracking night!

The forst wqeekend of the month is usually a Leeds weekend, but this time we were seeing Joe Lycett live in Hull so Gemma came for a Hull weekend instead.

Friday night we went to Cognac for delicious French food again, then on to our usual haunt The Star.

April was a very packed month socially! The weekend after Newcastle, Gemma was back in Hull again.

Friday night was down at The Star as usual. And when we got back, Gemma tried out her amazing, incredible newly made LED Pride umbrella. WOW!

The last weekend in April and Gemma was visiting yet again - we had a great time in April!

We had a gorgeous dinner out at a lovely country pub called the Ferguson Fawcitt in a village called Walkington, and went for a little wander around the village and the pond.

On the evening we ate well again - back at Cognac for more amazing French food, then on to an 80s night at Humber Social down Humber Street, which was a busy 80s gig!
