I had quite a social day the day after my surgery.

I was very honoured to have a vasit fron Britney and Laura - two friends I had been friends with on Facebook for several years but had never met in person.

Britney and Laura were absolutely wonderul, such great company and though it was the first time we had met, it was like we had known each other for years, the way we were talking. And they brought me some gorgeous flowers too!

It also turned out that another trans woman I knew, Vicki, was in for her surgery at the same time as me and only two rooms down, so she also popped in my room for a chat. It was lovely to see her too - hadn't seen Vicki since 2018 at Sparkle, when we both watched England beat Sweden in the World Cup quarter finals, watching in the Tribeca pub in Manchester.

So after surgery on Saturday, Tueasday was going home day. A very quick turnaround! Which I was very glad of, to be honest, as hospital beds are not the most comfortable and I was itching to be back in my own bed.

A hearty continental breakfast set me up nicely for the train journey back to Hull where my Mum picked my up and took me home - and she had some lovely flowers for me too! It was so good to see her.
