Auf dem Weg zum Stammtisch waren in der Altstadt von Lauf schon die ersten Anzeichen des kommenden Weihnachtsmarkts zu sehen: hier das geschmückte Stadttor.
Und auch wenn ich den Torbogen ausfülle, ich bin keine 3,7 m groß!

On the way to the regulars' table, the first signs of the upcoming Christmas market could already be seen in the old town of Lauf: here the decorated town gate.
And even if I fill the archway completely, I'm not 3.7 m tall!

Auch wenn es so ausieht: es ist nicht immer die gleiche Bank. Aber sie stehen alle am Ufer des Achensees. Und nachdem ich (fast) alle Zeit der Welt hatte, habe ich (fast) an jeder Bank eine kurze Pause eingelegt und das tolle Wetter und die unterschiedlichen Ausblicke genossen.
Als die Sonne dann hinter den Bergen verschwand, machte ich mich auf den Rückweg und habe den Tag dann noch beim Stammtisch-Treffen in Lauf ausklingen lassen.

Even if it looks like it: it's not always the same bench. But they are all on the shores of Lake Achensee. And after I had (almost) all the time in the world, I took a short break at (almost) every bench and enjoyed the great weather and the different views.
When the sun disappeared behind the mountains, I made my way back and ended the day at the Stammtisch meeting in Lauf.

Wie schon gesagt, gibt es entlang der Bergstraße kaum eine Möglichkeit zu parken und eine Wanderung zu starten. Das hatte ich mir deutlich anders vorgestellt. Weil aber zu dieser Zeit so wenig los war, konnte ich mit einem kurzen Stop doch dieses fotogene Häuschen in Szene setzen.

As already mentioned, there is hardly anywhere to park and start a hike along the mountain road. I had imagined things to be very different. But because there was so little going on at the time, I was able to make a short stop to take in this photogenic little house.

Nach all dem kreuz und quer durch die Stadt kam mir dieser Park mit seinen Bänken gerade recht, um eine Pause einzulegen.
Kurz darauf war hier richtig Betrieb und alle Bänke belegt. Wie ich aber erst später herausfand, gehört der Park zur Uni Innsbruck und da muss wohl gerade die Mittagspause angefangen haben.

After all the criss-crossing through the city, this park with its benches was just right for me to take a break.
Shortly afterwards it was really busy and all the benches were occupied. However, as I only found out later, the park belongs to the University of Innsbruck and there must have just been the start of the lunch break.
