Photographs have the ability to endow commonplace objects with significance which they do not possess in reality.
I came upon this long winding fence set up in the middle of a vast field. At first I could not picture it having any special photographic offerings. I noticed the clouds and took some shots trying to avoid lens flare. But why not use that beautiful sun as the main character instead of ignoring it?
That's when the fence gave me it's true beauty; a rhythm of angles created by it's slats and it's shadow across the entire photo field from corner to corner at various distances, playing off the positive and negative spaces against one another...

I am enamored by the Lomo "Holga" effect that this lens (meant to project onto a curved film plane) creates on a flat plane.
....and I must give credit to Kodak for this delicious film...
December in Illinois was warm and snowless. A quiet time in the woods and on the farm.
