Influenced by Andreas Gursky's works showing humanity's addiction to mass consumption.
Celebrating consumerism in creamy analog color.
What works towards the success of this photo is that all the individuals in the middle ground are coincidentally wearing slate colored shirts... and that delicious orange color way way in the back

You can have your majestic mountains and tropical white sand beaches - aisle 58 is the most beautiful aisle in the world.
If you listen carefully you can hear my wife grumbling behind me "What on earth are you doing?"
"Why dear, I'm taking a picture of the most beautiful aisle in the world."

As I mentioned in my previous post, my recent self prescribed venture is to break away from my usual modus operandi and learn a new sight through the vision of Gursky.
He has a talent for observing humanity in an artistic yet objective manner.
One of his works "99 cent" is particularly inspiring by it's abstractness and way of showcasing the world of consumerism.

What I’m trying to relay through my image is our inability to see the forest for the trees when we are in a store surrounded by products. Whether that be a grocery store, a clothing shop, an auto dealership we are inundated and thus overwhelmed to a point where we are servants to the environment.
We are no longer in charge of ourselves and are influenced by all that intentionally surrounds us.

My most recent photo path is studying the works of Andreas Gursky and how he embraces the nuances of space with such delicate grandeur. - I searched for a location where each zone is related to the next one and each zone plays a role towards the intended whole of the picture. This is my first attempt to follow his challenging template.
He is not an easy photographer to emulate.
But one look at his Rhein II and I knew this was talent.

2017 Andreas Gursky created a beautiful image “Utah” using a cellphone. He purposefully used natural blur and irregularities in his photo. — granted my photo is not as grand and sweeping as his, but with template in hand I’m working on it. 😄
What drew my attention to this particular group of pumpkins were those yellow lines and how they suspend the conglomeration.
