Blackpool ‘Open Boat’ tram 227, Pleasure Beach, Blackpool. Sunday 27 September 2015.
It is always nice to see an open boat tram in use on the promenade. 227 has been painted in to its original 1934 style although the green/cream has been replaced with red/cream to show how the tram could have appeared if the general manger Walter Luff had not changed the colours of the bus and tram fleet in 1933. I like the livery on 227 however the shades differ to those applied on double deck balloon tram 701 which is a correct representation of the pre Luff livery. If a decision is made to keep 227 in the same style/livery at its next repaint hopefully the correct shades can be applied.
