Withdrawn class 42 Wardship diesel locomotive D809 "Champion", Old Oak Common Diesel Depot, London on the day that I copped the locomotive, Saturday 15 April 1972. The Hymek is D7079.
D809 was withdrawn in October 1971 and was scrapped at Swindon Locomotive Works in October 1972. A total of 67 Warships were scrapped at the works.
